Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine changes the lives of over 650 youth facing adversity by providing meaningful, positive  relationships that ignite their greatest potential. Successful mentoring programs pair children, ages 5-14 (Littles), with caring, responsible role models (Bigs) in one-to-one friendships in seven counties throughout eastern, coastal and central Maine.

Success Stories

Supporting our 67 youth – children ages 5-14 from low-income, single-parent families who live in the Penobscot and Waldo Counties. supplies, books, postage, etc.

Providing the youth we serve with continuous professional match support by our experienced program managers. Program managers will be continuously checking the well-being of the Littles during this difficult time, advising Bigs how they can best alleviate fear, and close the distance gap, by utilizing our Big Pen Pals program. Program managers will also oversee the communication between Bigs and Littles who can no longer meet in person due to school closures. Program managers will be the conduit between Bigs and Littles and will provide them with the supplies needed to stay connected (paper, postage, art supplies, pencils, pens) during these uncertain times.
