On Friday, October 28, 2011, United Way will host our 3rd annual Day of Caring - matching workplace and community volunteers with service projects at area non profit organizations.
Check out our list of projects!
Register a workplace team today!
It’s an effective way for employers and employees to give back while spending time out in the community and having fun -all at the same time.
We hope that you and your fellow staff will participate! All the details are attached. Review the available projects, choose the ones that seem most interesting to you and your team and return the registration form to United Way by Wednesday, October 19.
This year, we’ll kick off the day with an event that, with help from you and your fellow employees, can really make the difference for children and youth in Eastern Maine.
United Way, with the personal support from UMaine Black Bear football Coach, Coach Cosgrove and his team, are leading an effort to help recruit more than 1,000 volunteer mentors, tutors and readers over the next three years. We hope you and some of your staff will join us at 10:30 on October 28th at the United Technology Center in Bangor (Eagers Auditorium) to learn more about the mentor, tutor and reader programs in our area. Research shows that one of the best way to positively impact a child, youth or adult in need is through a quality relationship. We hope you’ll attend and encourage others to do the same.
