The Forever Fund

A gift to the United Way of Eastern Maine Forever Fund endowment is a way to make a lasting commitment to your community and ensure that valuable services will continue to be available to those who need help in the future. Since the endowment’s creation, donors have notified United Way of planned gifts or estate plans that have been designed to benefit the donor, their families and the Eastern Maine community. They then become members of our Forever Fund of Eastern Maine.

There are a wide variety of fund options to meet your needs. You may want to establish a fund that will continue your annual gift long after you are gone or create a fund to support a particular area of interest, such as youth, the elderly, etc. Or you could establish a fund to honor a family member, co-worker, retiree, mentor or a loved one’s memory.

Founded in 1997, the Forever Fund provides Leaders’ circle donors with the opportunity to become "leaders forever." A gift of 20 times your annual gift allows us to establish a fund in your name. The principal of your gift will remain intact as part of United Way’s endowment, with the interest going to the annual campaign year after year. You have the satisfaction of knowing that the important work in the community, which you have been supporting annually, will continue for generations to come. Your endowed gift becomes your lasting legacy of leadership and vision for our community.

You can start your fund with gifts of cash or securities made over five years. Several of the donors to the Forever Fund (listed below) have become members by notifying the United Way that we are included in their wills. Others are listed here because they have been honored by friends and family with gifts made in their names.

If you would like information about joining the Forever Fund, would like to discuss planned giving options, or have left United Way in your will, please call us at 941-2800.

Ask for:

John Kuropchak (ext. 200), President
Kate Beale (ext. 204), Vice President of Resource Development

Please continue to help others by remembering United Way in your will.
