Community Service Ideas for Youth and Families
BANGOR CITYWIDE CLEAN-UP
The ninth Annual Bangor Citywide Clean-up will be held during the month of May. Students spend the morning cleaning their neighborhood park, after which they can attend the BBQ celebration. Look for flyers and notices to be sent home through the schools. For additional information, go to www.unitedwayem.org or contact United Way directly at 941-2800.
VOLUNTEER MAINE WEB SITE
To find fun places to volunteer students can visit volunteermaine.org. This is a volunteer matching web page hosted by the United Way of Eastern Maine. Within the site, youth volunteer opportunities are marked with a smiley face. Opportunities range from reading to the visually impaired to serving a meal to the elderly. For help navigating the site or more information please contact the United Way of Eastern Maine at 941-2800.
