Our community's families must have the resources they need to regain financial independence and maintain financially stability.

United Way and partners are helping working families achieve financial stability through asset building and financial education.

Through the Eastern Maine Creating Assets, $avings and Hope coalition, low to moderate income individuals can access free certified tax preparation services from February through April. Participants are encouraged to seek additional financial resources to help them budget, improve their credit and save regularly.

Thousands of working families are becoming financially stable, Eastern Maine CA$H has worked to raise awareness about the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Families use the tax credit to cover basic needs, pay down debt or open a bank account -ultimately increasing their long-term financial stability.

Last year, the CA$H Coalition has connected more than 2,800 low to moderate income taxpayers to more than $2 million in refund monies.
