United Way provides support for quality agencies

The United Way of Eastern Maine funds deserving health and human service organizations that have proven their ability to make lasting, important impact in our five-county area. From basic social needs to specialized care, these agencies improve the lives for more than 45,000 of people in Eastern Maine. These organizations are required to follow quality standards to ensure that they provide the most effective services with the best results.

Funding: United Way provides a variety of funding resources, grants, development accounts and assistance programs, which provide education, emergency food and shelter and other services.

Did you know?

United Way partners with the Creating Assets, $avings and Hope (CA$H) coalition to provide free tax assistance and financial resources to individuals in Eastern Maine. More than 2,800 low and moderate income individuals have received free tax preparation and financial resource support. The work of the coalition has brought more than $2 million in refund monies to Eastern Maine. Read more.
