Two volunteers put up a United Way of Eastern Maine's mission is to mobilize the caring power of people and communities, but we cannot achieve our mission alone. It is with YOUR help that we can improve the health and well being of Eastern Maine by make lasting solutions in the lives of Individuals, Families and Seniors.

We are proud to partner with the following outstanding groups:

Each partner addresses one or more of United Way's expected outcomes, which are:

  • More children enter school ready to learn and succeed
  • More youth in safe, nurturing places after school
  • More youth increase ability to accept and take personal responsibility
  • More families and individuals with their basic needs met
  • More families and individuals transition out of crisis and into self-sufficiency
  • More seniors active and independent
  • More seniors engage in volunteer and community activities
  • More caregivers have resources and support

Did you know?

United Way partners with the Creating Assets, $avings and Hope (CA$H) coalition to provide free tax assistance and financial resources to individuals in Eastern Maine. More than 2,800 low and moderate income individuals have received free tax preparation and financial resource support. The work of the coalition has brought more than $2 million in refund monies to Eastern Maine. Read more.
