United Way of Eastern Maine's mission is to mobilize the caring power of people and communities, but we cannot achieve our mission alone. It is with YOUR help that we can improve the health and well being of Eastern Maine by make lasting solutions in the lives of Individuals, Families and Seniors.

We are proud to partner with the following outstanding groups:

• 43 supported agencies make a difference in the lives of those who need it most through 70 of the highest quality programs in Eastern Maine.
• 2-1-1 Maine: a 24-hour information resource and referral line that connects Maine to health and human service resources.­
• The Backpack Program

• Bucksport School Readiness­ The Bucksport Bay School Readiness Initiative is meant to improve the health and learning potential of area children through the work of dedicated citizens within the community.
• Creating Assets $avings and Hope
• National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive
• VolunteerMaine is a collaborative effort between state, non-profit, public and private organizations that come together to promote volunteerism in the State of Maine.

Each partner addresses one or more of United Way's expected outcomes, which are:

• More children enter school ready to learn and succeed
• More youth in safe, nurturing places after school
• More youth increase ability to accept and take personal responsibility
• More families and individuals with their basic needs met
• More families and individuals transition out of crisis and into self-sufficiency
• More seniors active and independent
• More seniors engage in volunteer and community activities
• More caregivers have resources and support
